Triton Delay

Hey all,
Long time. This is my build of Culture Jam's Triton Delay, I specifically love how it is so clean sounding and gets nice an wiggly when switching between the delay settings. There are no mods to this. Just a straight up build. I have another one that I am planning on combining with a fuzzy ring mod circuit too. That should be fun!! Anyways here are the pictures. Hunter Fuzz

Hello all,
A while ago I did a work a like to the Shoegazer fuzz. This is a Soda Meiser with a Torn's Peaker cascaded into it. Its a VERY cool and Doomy sounding fuzz. Each on their own can get pretty gnarly but together they can conquer galaxies!! I used an etched face plate that I did the art layout for. I'll try to get a demo up soon. Thanks for reading!

  Not what you think. HAHA! I finished 2 pedals in one night! These have been waiting to be boxed for a while. The first is the Wormhole. This is a deadaustronaut Tremshifter. The layout was done by perfboardlayouts. The enclosure was etched by Dan at ADD effects.. It was an enclosure that he wasn't going to have built so I bought it off him. I etched the board and did all the wiring, and boy was there A LOT of wiring.
     The Effect is an optical tremolo with a envelope filter in front of it. There are two rate and depth knobs, one for the tremolo and one for the envelope filter. The output knob is a "master volume" for the effect. You will also notice the 3 switch. They are Shape, Filter, and Tone. The Tone Switch switches caps to brighten or darken your guitar tone. The Filter switch turns the envelope filter on and off, and the shape filter changes the shape of the optical tremolo.
     Over all, this is a very fun pedal. It will certainly make its way onto my board. Here are some pictures. I'll get a video up soon.

Next we have my third prototype of the HUNTER FUZZ! This is a Shoegazer clone that I did the PCB layout for. This one I built for my friend Matt. The left side is the "Torn's Peaker" and the right is the "Soda Meizer". Each has it's own stomp switch and Volume and Texture knob. Not much else to say except beware of nightmares...

GET IT! haha! Because Venom's name is Eddie Brock...alright enough comic nerdum.

     Anyways, Here is the Symbiote Fuzz. This is a Fuzz Factory clone that Guitar PCB did. To be totally honest I'm not a huge fan of the layout. The holes for the pot to wire to were too small and close together. This made for lots of off board wiring and cussing. The board is also a bit of a weird size and I had to wedge it in between the switch and the DC jack, Not my favorite but it fit. All in all if I do another one of these I will either use Madbeans Zombi board or design my own. The functionality of the board is exactly the same as a Fuzz Factory and sounds very similar. The controls are as follows:

VOL: Controls the overall volume of the effect

GATE; Squeal control, Think of this as a Noise Gate control

COMP: This kind of compresses the tone. Left for fat right for thin

DRIVE: This is a distortion control. It adds another level of spatter / HATE to the sound.

STAB: This controls the stability of the fuzz. usually pegged and never touched after that.

Many Fuzz fans don't like the Fuzz Factory. This is mainly because the pedal is very squealy if you don't have it set right. I for one like the squealy nightmare like sounds. I will post a video with a few good settings. For now you will just have to enjoy the pictures. Thanks for reading.

From DOOM to 8-Bit With The Flip Of A Switch

Hello All,
    Here we have the Sonic Nebulizer! This pedal is amazing!!! I mean that too. This is a fuzz that will raise the hairs on the back of your neck the with the flip of a switch and the twist of a knob melt your heart with an 8-bit crusher. All in all this design is very well done. It was easy to populate and the way it is laid out mad it very strait forward. I tip my hat to Frederik at http://www.parasitstudio.se He is the man behind the Flash Filter Fuzz Deluxe (the name of the board) and he deserves all the credit for the sound. I would recommend you swing by his site and check out some of the stuff he comes up with, its very cool.

     As for the enclosure, I can't take credit for that either. This was a collaboration done by me (I assembled the board and but it in the enclosure) and a friend on the madbeans forum, Dminner. Dminner did the layout of the art and acid etched it into the enclosure. All of his work is quite stunning. He contacted me and we decided on this circuit and art layout. So he did two enclosures and sent them to me. I then put them together and sent him one back. It worked out quite nicely and i plane on doing this again with him.

    So now that I bored you with a bunch of mumbo-jumbo, here are some pictures.

     Mike again, just letting you all know that I finished another build! Two in such a short time?!?! what a success! This is a Madbeans Kracken. I wanted an envelope filter and figured this was a good place to start. The circuit is a modified Mutron Micro V. The additions were two pots so you can adjust the Attack and Decay. I built this pretty close to Brian's specs. No fancy mods or outrageous switching options. All in all a fantastic sounding pedal. Building this also gave me the chance to test the other CA3080 chips I had in stock (all good ones). The switch board is a 1776effects Opto-Tron optical bypass board. This switch option uses a DPDT switch with an opto coupler to reduce bypass noise and tone "suck-age". I't also been a pretty big discussion on the forum about how much some people don't like the "China blue" 3PDT switches. So, I thought i would give the optical bypass a try in a pedal for me. It's good, and I think I'll use it in a few other builds. Anyways here are some pictures of the Kracken.

Decided to Re-House the Rebote 2.5

Hey guys,
    So after my last post I was demoing the pedals and found that the Delay was not working. It took three attempts and multiple cuss words but I figured out the issue...my wiring was a MESS! I kept breaking wires while attempting to get it in the enclosure. I certainly have learned my lesson about solid core wire, basically DON"T FUCKING USE IT!! I am almost at the point where I need to order more so I will source my wire elsewhere from now on and save this shit for personal builds and freebies. After coming to the above realization I decided I was going to use a different enclosure too. So I cut it out of the worn black one and put it in this copper 1590BB. This is one of the blemished enclosure I posted about a month or two back. The drill pattern is for a Klon Centaur (it was written in sharpie in the enclosure). The pattern had the correct amount of holes need for this delay too (1 switch, 1 footswitch, 2 jacks, 1 dc, and 3 knobs), I drilled the LED hole. So it all worked perfectly, pre-drilled / powder-coated enclosure = great wiring exercise. Thanks for reading.

Just an update

Hello All,
    So I am slowly starting to ease my way back into this. I have some half populated boards on my bench plus a repair for my friend Darren that I am currently working on. I recently came across a deal one of my suppliers was having on enclosures that I jumped on. It was 6 drilled and painted enclosures (blemished) for a very low price. So, I ordered two 6 packs. Here is what I ended up with.

This was a fantastic deal! They are all use able except the 2 silver and the 1 white (in the right row) with the large holes in them. I'll have to fill those with some JB Weld. I'll just use them for personal builds that's all. So, all in all, well worth it. I'll definitely jump on this if they offer it again. 

My amazing wife also did something really cool for me. She got me an early Father's Day gift.

It's my first acoustic guitar! I know, after playing for 10 years I still didn't own one. So my wife got me this one. It is an Alvarez AJ60CE. It has Fishman electronics and a built in tuner. I really wanted to be able to play for the baby and she made it happen. I love her, think I'll keep her around for a while ;-). Any ways there is my update. Thanks for reading!
